Parks and Nature

A family picnic under the shade of a tree, an afternoon spent chasing the kids through a splash pad, a peaceful walk along a waterfront trail, or a summer evening enjoying live music under an outdoor gazebo. In Kingsville, these moments are never far away.

With more than 45 hectares of parkland spread throughout Kingsville, Cottam, and Ruthven, it’s easy to find your own favourite place to relax, play and reconnect with nature.

Find a moment of stillness at Heritage at Lake Drive Beach. Enjoy a gelato under the shade sails on the Carnegie green. Bring the dogs to one of our off-leash dog parks so they can stretch their legs. Or spend a full day at one of our flagship parks: Lakeside Park or Ridgeview in Cottam.

Overlooking Lake Erie, Lakeside Park hosts community events, live entertainment, and annual festivals. In the warmer months, let the kids enjoy the splash pad and burn off energy at the playground while you take in the lake views, snap photos from our stunning stone heritage bridge, or play a game of frisbee in the lower bowl.

During the holidays, Lakeside shines with light displays for the annual Fantasy of Lights Festival. Explore on foot or hop aboard the Kingsville Express train for a guided tour while you sip hot chocolate and enjoy live music from the Pavilion.

In Cottam, Ridgeview Park offers another family-friendly destination where kids can climb, play and cool off in a splash pad while parents relax nearby. Turn a relaxing afternoon into a little friendly competition on our tennis, pickleball and basketball courts. Picnic tables under the Gosfield Communications Community Centre pavilion make a perfect spot to enjoy a picnic or take-out from one of the nearby restaurants.

Sometimes the simplest moments create the strongest memories.
